Female Founders To Watch: Rock Health's Women Entrepreneurs

Health tech startups utilize domain expertise in analytics and turn smartphone cameras into biosensors!

Health startup accelerator Rock Health held demo day for their second class of health startups yesterday. If you didn’t already know, Rock Health is a five month program and seed accelerator targeting health-related mobile and web applications and the entrepreneurs who are interested in building them.

Here are the women working on ground-breaking innovations in health – from utilizing their domain expertise in analytics to turning smartphone cameras into biosensors – and creating the next big healthtech startup. Digital health is quickly becoming a hot investment area.

Here are the women entrepreneurs who presented at Rock Health demo day yesterday:

Christine Lemke (Co-Founder, AchieveMint)
Former co-founder and COO of Sense Networks, Christine Lemke is building AchieveMint, an intelligent incentive network that rewards consumers who make healthy choices. AchieveMint announced at demo day that they have revenue. Follow her on Twitter at @cklemke.

Meghan Muntean (Co-Founder, ChickRX)
Formerly a portfolio consultant at Lehman Brothers and Barclays Wealth, Meghan Muntean co-founded ChickRX, a personalized health and wellness platform for women delivering Q&A with experts and peers, e-commerce and content. Follow her on Twitter at @meghanmuntean.

Somaira Pujwani (Co-Founder, MedMonk)
Pharmacist Somaira Pujwani created MedMonk as an alternative to turning away patients who struggled with their co-pay. MedMonk announced at demo day they raised 60% of their seed round. Follow her on Twitter at @medmonk.

Stacey Borden (Co-Founder, ChickRX)
Harvard Business School graduate Stacey Borden co-founded ChickRX, a personalized health and wellness platform for women delivering Q&A with experts and peers, e-commerce and content. Follow her on Twitter at @staceyborden.

Yukkee Poh (Co-Founder, Cardiio)
A postdoctoral fellow at Brigham Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Yukkee Poh started Cardiio to empower people with simple yet powerful tools to experiment, gain insight and take charge of their health and well-being. Follow her on Twitter at @cardiio.

Previous Rock Health startups with female founders are celebrating successes as well. Skimble, co-founded by Maria Ly, has had 5M+ downloads and is profitable. CellScope, co-founded by Amy Sheng, raised $1M from Khosla Ventures recently as announced last week. TechCrunch Disrupt powerhouse presenter Rebecca Woodcock, founder of Cake Health, has raised $850k for her venture.
