The sound bytes that were tweeted from February’s PITCH 2012 conference were golden.

“Know what you have to prove,” said ZipCar co-founder Robin Chase on building a minimum viable product. Just the minimum and then iterate fast. Katie Mitic at Facebook agreed, recommending entrepreneurs to “let go of the idea of a perfect product.”

Care.com CEO Sheila Lirio Marcelo delivered a strong message for women to let go of “that image of perfection” because this will give you more confidence and help take risks.

“More than suffering from a lack of confidence, women can handicap themselves by overpreparing,” she told the crowd.

She was one of three funded women entrepreneurs who shared her story and timeline for raising investment. TaskRabbit founder and CEO Leah Busque and Wanelo founder and CEO Deena Varshavskaya also presented their stories and path from idea to investment.

Recently exited startup founder and CTO Cathy Edwards talked about building a technology product, giving advice on how to handle the first 90 days of a software startup. Her own startup Chomp was acquired by Apple less than 2 weeks after she spoke at the conference.

The event wraps up with an excited discussion between women engineers and scientists (LightSail Energy’s co-founder and Chief Scientist Danielle Fong, Grove’s co-founder and Django developer Leah Culver and Obvious corporation engineer Jean Hsu) and investor Jeff Clavier about the future of technology and innovation.
