Coming to San Francisco for the conference? Women 2.0’s assistant editor, a Bay Area-native, suggests some day trips to make the most of your trip.

San Francisco is a beautiful city, so we don’t blame you if you want to spend your time there after the conference! To help out attendees who are planning to mix a little pleasure in with business and networking, we polled our team for suggestions of places to see near the City on the Bay so you can get the most out of you stay.
Sonoma (Wine Country)
Being a native of wine country, I will admit that I am a little biased on this one, but really… what beats a walk through rows of vineyards with a glass of the most delicious [insert red or white] wine in the warm sun? Not much, in my humble opinion. Wine country makes for a great relaxing day trip – it can also offer a slower, classy evening out on the town (for all those lovebirds out there celebrating Valentine’s Day weekend). Sonoma has a small-town charm that’s hard to beat with a simple downtown (1 square plaza) that’s filled with boutique shops and delicious dining options. In fact, the Women 2.0 team took a trip to Sonoma in December!
Tiburon (Waterfront)
For those who are looking for more of a seaside getaway, Tiburon is the place to go. Tiburon has an adorable, quiet downtown also filled with boutiques and additionally some great seafood restaurants that look out on to the bay. Don’t have a car? No sweat. Rent a bike for the day and ride the Golden Gate Bridge along the coast — you can catch the ferry on the way back.
Oakland (East Bay)
Looking to explore another urban environment? Head on over to Oakland. Get some chicken and waffles at the House of Chicken and Waffles and explore the farmer’s market on the waterfront at Jack London Square every Sunday. Follow that with a walk across the boardwalk and catch some jazz at Yoshi’s in the evening.
